Ms Wei-ling Chang 

Ms. Winnie WEI-LING CHANG, is Assistant Translator at CCPN Global (UK); She received her Master of Interpreting and Translation Studies, Monash University in 2009, and Bachelor of Arts from Deakin University in 2006. She has interest in languages, linguistics and culture with focus on Taiwan. She is fluent in Chinese (native), English and has basic understanding of Hakka (dailect).

Since 2008, Ms. Chang has been working actively in translation and interpreting in a variety of genres, including informative newsletter, art, academic articles, medical survey etc. During her master's degree, she worked as a volunteer translator for Sameway Magazine (同路人杂志, weekly community newspaper published from Melbourne). After her graduation, she worked as a freelancer for different companies and clients.

In August 2013, she worked as a volunteer interpreter for Chinese delegates participating in international workshop on “Doing Business with China” organised by COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Islamabad, Pakistan. During her stay in China from November, 2013 to February, 2014, she interpreted for different Chinese clients.

Besides translation and interpreting, Ms. Chang honed her editing skills while working as English Editor at Double Plus (普拉斯), Taipei (Jan 2012 to Sep 2013). In this capacity, she wrote contents for the workbook such as cloze, vocabulary cloze, sentence translation and reading comprehensions. In addition to this, she wrote drama scripts for Double Plus drama competitions. Earlier in 2007, she worked as a voluntary writer for a daily English newsletter and IASL 2007 (International Association of School Librarianship), Taipei.

Interpreting Experience

  • Worked as Interpreter for Chinese delegates participating in international workshop on “Doing Business with China” organised by COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Islamabad, Pakistan (August 2013).
  • Interpreted for Chinese delegates in Beijing, China (Nov- Feb, 2013-2014).

  • Translated brochure from “Doing Business with China” (from English to Chinese 2013)
  • Translated academic thesis summary (Chinese to English) since 2010.
  • Translated a scholarly article (English to Chinese) entitled, "Hao Jing’s Reflections on the Classics and the Zhongyong" written by田 浩 (Hoyt Tillman). Got a price of 9000 $NT.
  • Worked as Free Lance Translator with a Famous Translation Company, Taipei, Taiwan from February 2010 to 2012. 
  •  Translated English contents for a Melbourne Community magazine, Sameway
  • Magazine (同路人) (2008-2010)

Editing Experience

  • Worked as an English Editor at Double Plus, Taipei (Jan 2012 to Sep 2013): wrote new contents for the workbook (such as cloze, vocabulary cloze, sentence translation, reading comprehension, reading the picture and answer the following questions). Wrote drama scripts for Double Plus drama competitions.

张玮玲女士

张玮玲女士,全球中国比较研究会(英国),兼任助理翻译。澳大利亚莫那什大学(Monash University)口笔译研究所硕士(2009年),澳大利亚迪肯大学(Deakin University)文学学士(2006年)。专攻语言学与中英文学及台湾文化的研究。 能说流利的中文、英语, 并且略通客家方言。

张女士自2008年以来, 对各种不同文体, 进行笔译和口译工作,包括信息性的通讯、艺术、学术论文、医学问卷调查等。攻读硕士学位期间,她参与同路人杂志的志愿笔译工作(同路人杂志是墨尔本发行的每周社区报纸)。毕业后,她成为自由职业者, 为不同性质的公司和客户提供翻译的服务。

2013年8月,在巴基斯坦伊斯兰堡, COMSATS 信息技术大学举办“与中国做生意”的国际研讨会,她担任志愿口译者, 为与会的中国代表翻译。在中国停留的期间(从2013年11月至2014年2月), 她为不同的中国客户提供口译服务。

除了笔译和口译的经历外, 在2007年7月时,国际学校图书馆协会 (IASL) 在台北师范大学举行, 张女士担任每日英文快报的写作者。她曾在台北普拉斯美语公司(2012年1月至2013年9月), 担任英文编辑的工作。所编写的美语教材内容包括: 克漏字、单字填空,句子翻译和阅读测验。此外,她为普拉斯美语话剧比赛编写话剧剧本。
